Set in late 1950s Turkey, ISTANBUL DREAMING is a coming-of-age story that follows Ayten, a dutiful daughter torn between tradition and her dream of becoming a modern Turkish woman.

After she’s forced into an arranged marriage, Ayten flees her husband and family for haven and a new life in Istanbul, where she falls for an American airman, but her past follows her, challenging her dreams and posing the question of whether anyone can ever leave their past behind and begin again.
