About Me
Five Things About Me:
Although I currently live in Northern Kentucky with my husband and extremely spoiled French Bulldog, I’m an Arizonan at heart.
I am a Turkish-American with Turkish language skills that allow me to pass for either a very savvy American tourist or a not-so-savvy Turk!
I’m a graduate of The Book Incubator writing program, led by authors Mary Adkins and Rufi Thorpe, and was a 2024 finalist for the Women’s Fiction Writers Association Rising Star Award.
Before I pivoted to pursue a lifelong dream of writing books, I had a 20+ year career in international development, living in Afghanistan, Liberia, and Myanmar (with shorter work stints in several other interesting places), where I led life-saving women’s health projects.
I love plants and am an aspiring gardener. I also love animals, and my house would be full of them if I didn’t also love to travel.
